In order to encourage zakat, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo launched Gerakan Cinta Zakat which is expected to increase awareness of Muslims in giving zakat, infaq and alms. This movement was launched virtually with the distribution of zakat by the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia to BAZNAS (National Zakat Agency) at the State Palace on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

The event was held by the presence of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as the Kabinet Indonesia Maju. Also PT Nusa Kirana RE is honored to receive an invite to participate virtually. Initially Gerakan Cinta Zakat event started with the opening by the Head of BAZNAS Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA and followed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

 Gerakan Cinta Zakat is aligned with the government programs that aimed in decreasing the poverty numbers, well-response in calamities and disasters, and implementation of various SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) programs. It is the President’s desire, that the zakat funds by BAZNAS is distributed accordingly as per his mandate to help Indonesian people who are struggling due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The functionaries, BUMN (State-Owned Enterprises), private companies, and regional heads throughout the country are also encouraged to give zakat through authorized amil zakat with the purpose to share blessings and support social welfare.

Up to now, PT Nusa Kirana RE has committed and consistent in fulfilling its obligations to give zakat, infaq and alms. Additionally, the company was so proud to receive the BAZNAS Award in the category of Perusahaan Pembayar Zakat Terbaik for the third time since 2018.

After Gerakan Cinta Zakat is launched, PT Nusa Kirana RE has supposed to remain consistent in distributing zakat, infaq and alms every year. (*Intan)
